Heat Transfer Vinyl Instructions

Follow these simple steps for the best results when applying HTV to your garments or products.

Application times and peel temperatures can vary depending on the material you're working with, so we always recommend doing a test run before diving into your final project.

Best Practices:

- For optimal results, we recommend using a heat press. However, many of our customers have successfully applied HTV with an iron.

- A Heat Press Mat is a great tool to keep your project flat and provide a sturdy surface to apply pressure. It also helps dissipate heat from the garment after pressing, ensuring a smooth finish.

Layering & Sensitive Garments:

- If you’re layering HTV or working with sensitive garments, always use a Teflon Cover Sheet between the garment and the heat press. This non-stick sheet will protect your layers and prevent them from sticking to the press.

Pro Tip:

- Before applying your HTV, run your heat press over the garment for a few seconds to remove any moisture. This ensures a longer-lasting bond and a smoother finish.

- For Puff HTV, we recommend placing a solid surface under your garment (like a sturdy piece of timber) and using a heat press to apply even pressure. This will help you achieve the best puff effect. Keep in mind, some of our Puff HTV has a textured finish and won’t result in a completely smooth puff.
